When the tides turned on the California Delta, Bryant Smith was ready. In a field stacked with some of the best anglers on the West Coast, the Roseville pro clinched a hard-earned win at the 2025 BAM Super 60, banking the $50,000 top prize and his second BAM Pro-level title of the season.
Smith opened with 21.53 pounds on day one, working key grass edges and tide windows, then stayed inside striking distance with 13.65 pounds on a tougher day two. Championship Sunday was all about guts: knowing he needed a big bag, he pivoted from finesse to power, flipping thick mats in Franks Tract with a Strike King Rage Bug on 50-pound Seaguar Smackdown braid. The move produced a near 9-pound Delta giant and a 27.26-pound final-day limit that sealed the win. "The Delta will test every decision you make," Smith said after weigh-in. "You can't get stuck on one plan — you've got to listen to the water. The big ones tell you when it's time to flip the switch."
The victory carried personal weight, too — many of the stretches Smith fished on Sunday were places he explored years earlier with his dad. "This one's for him," he shared. "This place taught me how to fish, and it still finds a way to humble you every time."
